Overview

The Lipstick and Curls hair and make up academies are guaranteed to elevate your skills whether you’re a novice, a dabbler, or a stylist looking to learn some new skills.

The  hair course covers: (1 full day course)

Setting and Pin Curling 

Pin curls are the basis of every vintage style from the 20’s onwards and a great place to start your session. You will be looking at different ways to pin curl the hair, by applying your skills to various hair types and length. Amanda will share her tips and tricks to ensure you understand the importance of this process. In this session we will look at finding the perfect tools for the job and way to create these styles using modern tools  and techniques.

Victory Rolls, Up do's, Beehive, Pleats, Rolls and Twists

The Victory Roll is a key style of the 1940’s and compliments any set. Amanda will show you different ways of rolling, twisting and pleating your hair, then be on hand to help you recreate the look in a way that works best for you. We will also look at key styles that defined the decades and how to achieve these styles yourself. Finishing touches to your style, at this stage you are guaranteed to feel more confident with your vintage styling techniques. This is your chance to be really creative, with Amanda on hand to guide you!

The course is made up of three parts 1) A Demo 2) Working together in pairs 3) Working on yourself all with assistance from Amanda and one of the Lipstick and Curls team

The vintage make up course covers: (1 full day course)

During the session Amanda will share with the group her experience and techniques and will help you achieve many new looks giving you more confidence with application, colour and technique.

What will be covered in the session - 

Make Up Brushes/Tools of the trade - Each attendee will have the use of a full brush kit throughout the session. We will work through the importance and uses of different brushes and how to use them correctly.

Professional Make Up Products - At the session you will get the opportunity to play with and try many different products that you perhaps haven't ever tried before. This will be a good opportunity to look at textures of products, application and of course make sure everyone is aware of it's use.

Classic Make Up application - This is a practical session so we will be covering a lot of the favourite styles and trends in make up that have been popular over years. This includes, The smokey eye, The perfect liner, brow grooming and the perfect pout. We will also be looking at face shapes and how to enhance your features by using the magic of make up this will include shading and highlighting and the correct application of product and colour to give you an all round glow!

Colour - Apart from getting the opportunity to try different shades of colour we will be talking about how to make the correct choices when choosing colour for yourself.

This is a fun day and you will leave with lots of new skills and the confidence to apply them!!
