Due to our busy, modern lifestyle's Women have less time to spend on there appearance? Hairstyles are cut so they are, quick and manageable and with so many multi tasking beauty products on the marking we are now able to do our make up in minutes ... and on the move!

The vintage look is of course the opposite of the above but gives women the chance to create a more glamorous image. Make up was stronger and more defined and the hair was more styled. With vintage Iconic images more popular than ever it's no wonder that most women are 'returning to beauty' and exploring their 'Vintage Style'! Here are a few of our favorite Timeless Beauties,

Louise Brooks was a pioneer for the 1920's silhouette. A classic icon with a strong image that has inspired the decades to follow, the sharp bob, the black smokey eyes and not to mention her stunning beauty!

Elizabeth Taylor was a true star and for me an icon of her age, her curvy silhouette, heavy eyes and perfectly painted mouth made her one of Hollywood’s true starlet's.

The Notorious Betty Page! has to be included in our list of icons as hers is one of the most distinct. A beauty with a unique image, Betty was a controversial star adored by men and loathed by women. We now all celebrate her image and continue to replicate her style.

Marilyn Monroe was of course one of the most iconic images of the 1950’s. Her amazing beauty and striking image make her still of the most influential pioneer’s of beauty and style!

Brigitte Bardot was ruled the first ‘sex kitten’ of the screen. With her effortless natural sexuality and incredible style she is a notable icon in history. We love her wispy locks and backcombed, beehives along with her dark sultry eyes and opaque lipstick.

I think women are uniformed when making beauty decisions and therefore often make mistakes. To name a few, unflattering make up tones including the wrong colour foundation, over plucked and incorrectly plucked eyebrows, we are lucky as these days there is so much professional advice and help widely available to everyone.

Our top tips for flawless, timeless beauty

-  Less is more, consider your make up prior to application and try and balance everything like a picture! If you choose a striking red lippy or a strong smokey eye, let this be the focal point of your face. Keep the rest flawless and simple.

-  Keep those curls as long as possible, we all love to have soft shiny hair so most of the products we use in our hair care today come with vitamins and conditioners.  These also make our hair heavy and hard to hold a curl. If you plan to set your hair perhaps leave out the conditioner from your routine this will make the hair a little more porous but you will find your curl will keep it ‘s shape better.

-  Don’t be afraid to Backcomb! This is the backbone of most of our vintage styles and will help create shape and strength to any structure you wish to create.

-  Don’t leave out the setting lotion/mouse and rely on hairspray to hold your styles. Hairspray is a finishing spray and you should only spray this on the hair when you have finished your style this will ensure the perfect hold.

-  Always apply your eye make up with your eyes open this is the best way to get the perfect smoky eye or that sleek liner. Your eyes are very stretchy and if you shut your eye or hold the skin out to the side when apply products when you finally open your eyes chances are it will be in a completely different place entirely! A mirror looking down is the best position to ensure you optimise application.
